bed bugs...

i recently had a friend over(an x-friend now) and he brought those nasty bed bugs into my home. worse off, i didn't know i had them for over a month and half!! day after day i woke up with bites. i went and saw a doctor thinking it was allergies. i was conclusive finally when i caught one crawling on me! gross! so i finally have pest control in, but now im absolutely scared to sit and sleep! the bug guy said i could sit on the couch and sleep(i put mattress covers on)..but in my mind i feel them crawling all over me! i've washed evrything i own in hot hot hot water and dried it...but how can i convince myself that these pests are gone! should i have the bug guy come back and spray the place again? should i toss the couch? help....
