bugs on my couch?

: My friend found a bird that had its wing clipped and clearly looked like someones pet. I took him to the vet and the vet said it didnt have any clear signs of mites or lice since it was just a basic examination.After a couple of day keeping the bird on my balcony i noticed little small bugs crawling on and in his cage. I thought they were little ants so i brought him inside and cleaned the cage. about two days ago i notice these same bugs(mites?) crawling out from inside and on my couch and maybe one or two on my comforter. So i got the raid out and started spraying down my couch. I saw an average of 10-30 of them each day. There were none on his cage just on the right side of the couch. I am worried because of my cat and past couple weeks iv been noticing bugs bites didnt no where i got them from. : I dont get how the bugs were outside now all sudden in side and only on one side of the couch and not on/ and in the bird cage which if they came in through the door the bird cage is before the couch?
