I found earthwoms in my sons room

I found earthworms in my sons roon on the second floor of our house it has recently gotten cold and for the past 3 days my wife has found 8 dead earth worms on the carpet tonight she found one still alive where r they coming from ? could they have come up through the walls? they r only in one room of the house . are they harmful for my baby? someone please help
