TINY black worm-like bugs...from old cat food?please help i got kids!!!

There was an old bag of cat food sitting on top my dresser(in my closet) cause thats where my old cats "room" was,lol...anyway i pick the bag up the other day to throw in the trash and there are tiny tiny blackish and off white bugs that look like worms, i woulda missed em they are so small but they were all over the white shirt the bag was sittin on...i feel disgusted and scared cause i have children here, dont know if i should get rid of the new cat or not...i feel all itchy now cause i dont know what they are...have u ever seen the tiny tiny worm things in pools and water that move around, they will curl up in a ball?thats what they look like...
